Statement of Faith

There is only one true God. He is the Creator of heaven and earth and the Saviour of mankind. He has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Ghost. (Matt. 28 v 19 & Isa. 43 v 10 & 11)

Both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired by God and they are the rule of faith and conduct and infallible. (II Pet. 1 v 21 & II Tim. 3 v 15-17)

Only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ can man be redeemed.(saved, born again). Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. (St. John 3 v 3 & Rom. 10 v 13-15 & Eph. 2 v 8). The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Rom. 8 v 16). The outward evidence is a life of righteousness and holiness to all men. It is a born again experience as detailed by Jesus Christ. (St. John 3 v 3-8).

God created man good and upright. Man voluntarily transgressed and fell, thereby incurring not only physical death but also spiritual death (separation from God). (Gen. 1 v 26 – Gen. 2 v 17 & Rom. 5 v 12-19)

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.

  • His virgin birth (Mat. 1 v 23 and Luke 1 v 31-35)
  • A sinless life (Heb. 7 v 26 & I Pet. 2 v 22)
  • A miraculous ministry (Acts 2 v 22 & Acts 10 v 38)
  • His substitutionary work on the cross. (1 Cor. 15 v 3 & II Cor. 5 v 21)
  • His bodily resurrection from the dead. (Luke 24 v 39 and Matt 28 v 6 & I Cor. 15 v 4)
  • His exaltation to the right hand of God. (Acts 1 v 9 & Heb. 1 v 1-3)

The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the spirit with divine appointments for the fulfilment of her great commission. (Heb. 12 v 23 & Eph. 1 v 22)

Sanctification – the act of separating from that which is evil and dedicating oneself to God. A life of holiness, without which, no man shall see the Lord and by the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to obey the command. (I Pet. V 15-16 & Heb. 12 v 14 & Rom 6 v 11)

The ordinance and baptism by total immersion is commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord are to be baptised. (Matt. 28 v 19 & Rom. 6 v 4)

The Lord’s Supper (communion) – consists of bread and the fruit of the vine which are the symbols expressing the divine nature of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophecy of His Second Coming and it is commanded to all believers, until He come. (I Cor. 11 v 26 & II Pet. 1 v 4)

Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel, deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. (James 5 v 14 –16 & Isa. 53 v 4-5)

All believers should earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. ‘Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you’. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the New Birth. Acts 1 v 4 This is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance and brings enduement and power for service, which is a command of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1 v 4 & 1 Cor. 12 v 1-31 & Acts 2 v 4)

A scriptually and divinely called ministry has been provided by the Lord for a twofold purpose. The edifying of the body of Christ and the evangelisation of the whole world. (Eph. 4 v 11-13 & Mark 16 v 15-29)

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the rapture of the saints, which are two distinctly separate events, literally described in 1 Cor. 15 v 51 – 55 and 1 Thes. 4 v 13-14 are the believers blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on the earth for one thousand years. (Rom 11 v 26-27 & Rev. 1 v 7 & Mic. 4 v 3 & Isa. 11 v 6-9)

There will be a final judgement in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and false prophet will be punished forever in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Rev. 19 v 20 Matt. 25 v 46 Rev. 20 v 11-15)

There will be a New Heaven and a new earth. We look for a new heaven and earth wherein dwells righteousness. (2 Pet. 3 v 13 – Rev. 21 and 22)
